Após meses do lançamento de I Can Only como single, a cantora e atriz JoJo finalmente liberou o videoclipe oficial em seu canal no VEVO. O vídeo também trás a cantora canadense Alessia Cara cantando ao lado de Levesque. Joanna declara que é o clipe mais pesado que já participou, e que a ideia foi homenagear mulheres que sofreram violência ao longo da vida. O diretor Wes Teshome também dirigiu o clipe de FAB.

O clipe de I Can Only começa onde o de FAB terminou. A câmera mostra o céu em preto e branco e descendo lentamente até onde JoJo está. Escorada sobre uma mureta no topo de um edifício, estava com os olhos vidrados na rua repleta de automóveis embaixo. Deu a volta e seguiu na direção de uma porta que dava acesso a uma escada metálica. O instrumental da canção teve início. Levesque apareceu cantando o primeiro verso enquanto descia tal escada. O preto e branco foi substituído por uma imagem com cores.
A segunda estrofe trouxe as imagens de várias mulheres reunidas em uma única sala. Estavas organizadas em um círculos e todas possuíam uma xícara nas mãos. Os rostos mostravam tristeza, algumas tinhas curativos no rosto e também arranhões em toda a parte superior do corpo. Todas foram vítimas reais de violência. O refrão chegou e o foco voltou para JoJo. Enquanto cantava o refrão, sentou em um velho sofá posto em um dos corredores do prédio. Em um rápido flashback, foi mostrado todo o drama de Joanna com sua antiga gravadora. Cenas borradas de papeis em mesas, empresários de terno e gravata com olhares frios e a própria em prantos foram passadas para o público.
No momento seguinte, a canadense Alessia Cara surgiu na mesma sala onde estavam as mulheres e sentou no centro do círculo. É possível perceber a caracterização haviam feito nela. Seu rosto, assim como pescoço e mãos apresentavam ferimentos e arranhões. Na sua mão esquerda segurava uma garrafa de cerveja, enquanto na outra a foto de um homem - seu agressor -. Do mesmo jeito, outro flashback foi passado e mostrou a história conturbada da personagem com o seu parceira. As cenas de agressão que foram exibidas estavam borradas e ao fundo dava para se ouvir os gritos de lamentação da cantora e os diversos xingamentos do homem.
No segundo refrão, a câmera focou nos lábios de todos os indivíduos ali presentes na sala enquanto cantavam. Todas as mulheres cantavam com os olhos fechados e segurando as mãos uma da outra. O som foi interrompido e houve uma batida na porta. E sem esperar, alguém abriu-a. Era JoJo. Ela adentrou na sala e arrastou uma cadeira bem ao lado de Alessia. Antes dela se sentar a música voltava de onde havia parado. Ela levantou a garrafa de cerveja que antes Alessia segurava e cantou o verso seguinte. Assim que o refrão chegou todas se levantaram e em câmera lenta ergueram suas xícaras para o ar enquanto riam.
A chegada da morena no local pareceu trazer uma espécie de confiança para as demais. JoJo e Alessia também cantavam abraçadas. No final do videoclipe, todas se reuniram para um abraço coletivo enquanto a câmera se afastava e a porta era fechada. Após alguns segundo de tela preta, uma mulher loira e com marcas visíveis de agressão começou a desabafar sua própria história e como está conseguindo superar todo o sofrimento, mesclando também com o depoimentos das outras mulheres participantes do videoclipe.
