Na noite desta quinta-feira (31/05), a rapper australiana recém-ingressada no mundo da indústria fonográfica, Iggy Azalea, se fez presente no palco do The Ellen DeGeneres Show onde pôde falar sobre o seu primeiro single lançado oficialmente, Bounce.
Ellen: Temos uma convidada muito especial no palco hoje... Ela começou sua carreira recentemente com um single chamado Bounce, é uma rapper que veio da Austrália e pouco sabemos sobre ainda. Recebam, Iggy Azalea!
Uma salva de aplausos vindo da plateia e da própria Ellen ecoa pelo local enquanto Iggy aparece vislumbrante em seu look acenando para a plateia e sorrindo. Ela se senta o lado de Ellen.
Iggy: Ah, estou tão feliz de poder estar presente aqui! (risos)
Ellen: Garanto que somos nós quem estamos feliz, Iggy. Bem, nós podemos falar sobre o seu single?
Iggy: Ah, Bounce...
Ellen: O que achou do resultado? Ficou como você esperava ou você queria alguma modificação?
Iggy: Ficou perfeito! Na Utopia Records valorizam bastante o artista, cada pequena modificação de áudio que faziam, eu era a primeira a escutar para dar minha opinião.
Ellen: Foram muitas essas modificações?
Iggy: Não, eu não quis que modificassem minha voz, não quero ser conhecida por uma voz computadorizada.
Ellen: E a respeito do instrumental? Como foi criado?
Iggy: Ah, a princípio tínhamos em mente uma música puramente rap, mas sofreu influências do pop e do eletrônico. Sinceramente, eu havia escutado a versão simplesmente rap antes, e a versão com pop e eletrônico, que é a que lançamos oficialmente, estava muito melhor!
Ellen: Desde quando você faz rap?
Iggy: Adolescência, eu acho... Eu me interessava bastante ouvindo cantores de rap, e onde eu vivia na Austrália não era um gênero tão aclamado, então foi um pouco estranho quando eu comecei a me interessar, e, principalmente, a cantar.
Ellen: Bounce é o seu primeiro single lançado oficialmente. Você já pode revelar se vai fazer parte de algum álbum ou EP?
Iggy: Hum, sim... Já estamos trabalhando num álbum, mas não acredito nem um pouco que ele sairá por agora... Bounce é o primeiro single que lancei oficialmente para o álbum, constará nele sim.
Ellen: Você planeja algum vídeo para Bounce?
Iggy: Sim! As gravações começaram há algum tempo... Ah, eu acho que eu não podia falar isso... (risos) Mas agora já era, vou terminar de contar! Não tenho certeza de quando exatamente, mas é provável que o clipe já esteja no YouTube na semana que vem.
Ellen: É claro que não poderíamos terminar a entrevista sem pedir à você que cantasse o seu sucesso.
O instrumental de Bounce começa, Iggy pega um microfone e rapidamente começa a cantar o single, enquanto dança com a cintura e os ombros.
